J & J's Joanne Fillweber Honored

With the gracious assistance of Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, who shared a recorded video message, Joanne Fillweber, class of 1982, was presented the Middlesex County College Alumna of the Year Award at the College's recent Scholarship Gala.

It was easy for the Alumni Association Board of Trustees to confirm her nomination as she has consistently demonstrated significant achievements in her professional work and community activities.

As noted by William Egbert III '04, President of the MCC Alumni Association, "Her work at Johnson & Johnson stretches back to her days as a student at the College. Joanne continued her education after receiving her degree here and she developed a wonderful career."

Fillweber is Manager, Corporate Contributions and is responsible for implementation and strategic direction of philanthropic leadership and management programs that contribute to building health care capacity globally.  In this role she worked with Mrs. Carter who offered, "personal wishes for continued success as you work to address the needs of health care workers and the next generation of students preparing for health care careers."

"We are pleased to recognize how Joanne has multiplied the lessons learned here and applied them in increasingly responsible positions and in her current work to build health care capacity globally," said Joann La Perla-Morales, MCC President.
