UPDATE: Occupy Wall Street Marchers Anticipate Reaching Albany Street Bridge by 6:30 p.m. Thursday

Protestors marching to Washington, D.C. to stop tonight in New Brunswick

Update 5:31 p.m.

A spokesman for the group of Occupy Wall Street protestors marching from New York City to Washington, D.C. says the group anticipates arriving at the Albany Street Bridge by 6:30 p.m. Thursday night.

They group will meet up with about 15 additional people looking to join up with them, and then will proceed on to the nearby Rutgers University campus for a sit-in and communual discussion.

The group, known as the "NYC March 2 DC" left Liberty Square in New York City on Nov. 9 and will walk all the way to Washington, D.C. with planned stops in Trenton, Andalusia and Philadelphia, Pa., Wilmington and Newark, Del., Rising Sun, Bel Air, Baltimore, and Laurel, Md. before reaching DC on Nov. 23.

The group stopped in Elizabeth on Nov. 9.

According to the group's website, the purpose of their quest to DC is to protest the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy. If the group stays on target, they will arrive in DC the same day as a meeting of the Congressional Super Committee about the cuts, according to the website.

Around 11:40 a.m. on Thursday, about 22 people were currently marching, with an anticipated arrival in New Brunswick around 6 p.m., according to a group spokesman. They have not yet decided as to where they will spend the night, he said.Β
