UPDATE: Throop Avenue Shooting Was Targeted, Police Say

Two men were shot on Throop Avenue Sunday, sending both to the hospital.

A shooting on Throop Avenue that occurred on Sunday afternoon was targeted, police said.

Around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, two men, an adult from New Brunswick and a juvenile from North Brunswick, were shot on Throop Avenue between Suydam Street and Seaman Street.

According to New Brunswick Police Director Anthony Caputo, the two victims were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Caputo declined to identify the victims, or give their age or hometowns at this time.

Cpt. J.T. Miller of the New Brunswick Police Department said the ongoing investigation into the shooting has determined that the two victims were targeted by the shooter.
