Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission welcomes Beverly A. Friend at 2 p.m. April 28 at The Lodge in Thompson Park. The Lenape people occupied New Jersey, southeastern New York, eastern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware at the time of European exploration and colonization. Ms Friend will introduce Lenape culture through games and stories. Games served a variety of purposes. They were a means for children to learn important life skills and encouraged social interaction within the tribe and with other tribes. Ms Friend will present a display of a variety of authentic artifacts, crafts and clothing.
