Not Anymore: A Story of Revolution - Matthew VanDyke (Baltimore, Maryland)
A riveting short documentary about the ongoing Syrian war, as experienced by Mowya, a 32-year-old rebel commander, and by Nour, a 24-year-old female journalist, living in the war-torn city of Aleppo. The film eloquently conveys why Syrians are willing to fight for their freedom, as told through the emotional words of those whose lives have been shattered by war. In Arabic and English, subtitled. 2013; 15 min. With an introduction and Q+A session by Director Matthew VanDyke!

From Queens to Cairo - Sherif Sadek (Jackson Heights, New York)
This film centers on an Egyptian-American who takes his family back to his native Cairo, one year after the Egyptian Revolution.  Determined to see for himself what the challenges on the road to democracy are, his travels take him from Tahrir Square to revealing discussions with Egyptians from all walks of life.
