Digital Design Student Wins Graphic Design Competition
Third year digital design student Sharon Feng, of Piscataway, won the annual cover design competition for the Virtual Academic Library Environment (VALE) conference program. This marks the fourth consecutive year that a digital design student from NJIT’s School of Art + Design has won the competition which is open to all New Jersey college students studying graphic design or a related discipline. The task given to competitors was to brand the conference (posters, publication cover, opening and closing animation, and presentation background image). Feng’s abstract composition, prepared in the third year design studio taught by University Lecturer Augustus Wendell, was developed after research into “blossoming” and “branching” typology in three dimensions.
