New Brunswick 4-H Recognizes Volunteers, Community Partners

The organization held a volunteer appreciation luncheon at the New Brunswick Free Public Library on Monday.

The New Brunswick 4-H Club showed its thanks on Monday to its network of volunteers and community partners that help make the club's programs a daily reality.

The club held a volunteer appreciation lunch at the New Brunswick Free Public Library, recognizing its supporters from organizations like Lazos America Unida, The Citizens Campaign, Elijah's Promise, the Greater Brunswick Charter School, the New Brunswick Free Public Library, and the Middlesex County 4H program.

A group of student volunteers from New Brunswick High School were also given plaques as thanks for their assistance in helping the organization.

Laura Bovitz, Middlesex County 4-H Agent, said the New Brunswick 4-H Club is one of only a handful of 4-H clubs set in urban areas.

A common misconception is that 4-H members must be involved with animals, which is not the case, she said.

New Brunswick 4-H offers free programs for children and teens in dance, Lego Robotics and community gardening, for instance.
