New Brunswick Little League To Hold Opening Ceremony

New Brunswick Little League will hold its Opening Ceremony for the 2014 Little League season at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 12 at the Youth Sports Complex – 419 Joyce Kilmer Ave., New Brunswick, N.J. (rain date of April 19th).

The Opening Ceremony is the official kickoff to the 2014 season for New Brunswick Little League. This year, there is even more to celebrate, as Little League International marks its 75th Anniversary.

In recognition of the Little League International 75th Anniversary, New Brunswick Little League will have special guests to help celebrate: Mayor Jim Cahill will present a proclamation and Congressman Pallone is scheduled to present a letter of recognition to the league.

A celebratory parade is scheduled for Sunday, May 4th during Ciclovia, followed by a home run derby at the Youth Sports Complex.

 “Our Opening Ceremonies are always a wonderful day to celebrate our players, parents, volunteers, and sponsors,” said Jerry B. Mercado, New Brunswick Little League President. “This year is extra special as we honor Little League’s 75th Anniversary. We’re excited to kick off our new season and are looking forward to a great year of baseball for girls and boys of New Brunswick, North Brunswick, and South Brunswick.”
