George Street Playhouse Offers Free Family-Friendly Performance Saturday

"Austin the Unstoppable" is a story about a family's journey to eat healthy.

George Street Playhouse will open its doors at noon Saturday, Jan. 12, to families looking for a fun, free activity, with a performance of the original musical "Austin the Unstoppable."

The piece is a tale of a family's journey to eat healthier foods and get more exercise after a lifetime of unhealthy habits has them facing a medical condition.

The play is performed by the Playhouse's educational touring theatre company, and part of a statewide initiative to tackle childhood obesity in New Jersey.

The performance is approximately 60 minutes long and includes a post-performance discussion.

It is suitable for students in grades 3-8, according to the theater.

Reservations are required by calling the George Street Playhouse box office at (732) 246-7717 or by visiting http://www.georgestreetplayhouse.org/specialevent/openstageseries.

Healthy refreshments will be provided by The Fresh Grocer.
