Christie Price Tag

Governor Christie has spent a lot of money on advertisements touting his economic record. But reality is much bleaker than these ads portray – especially when it comes to property taxes.

New Jersey’s middle and working class families are feeling the strain of their property tax bills, and the governor is to blame. On average, property taxes have risen almost 20% over the last four years that Christie has been in office. He slashed property tax rebates, an act that effectively took hundreds of dollars in property tax relief away from the working families who needed it most.

And now, Governor Christie is trying to dodge criticism of his failed policies with fictitious ads.  But no matter how much money the governor’s campaign spends on false advertising, New Jerseyans will continue to feel the heavy burden of their property taxes while he is in office – and on Election Day they won’t forget it.

The people of New Jersey need to know that there's a strong alternative to this governor’s cuts in property tax relief. Senator Barbara Buono.

Senator Buono has a detailed economic plan that tackles high property taxes at its root, by providing much needed relief for New Jersey’s middle and working class families. Her plan restores the property tax relief that Governor Christie eliminated and focuses on helping New Jersey’s working families survive and thrive in a difficult economic climate. New Jersey has had a tough time recovering from the economic crisis of 2008, with over 400,000 still out of work. Property taxes are bad enough when you have a job, and are even worse if you don’t. We need someone in the Governor’s office who will tackle the economic issues New Jersey faces without sacrificing property tax relief for those who need it most, and Barbara Buono is that person.
