Middlesex County Closes All Beachfront Areas for Storm Recovery
Beaches in Middlesex County will be closed to the public until further notice.
The Middlesex County Office of Health Services has issued a decree that all beachfront and waterfront areas in the county are to be closed immediately to accommodate recovery efforts from Hurricane Sandy.
According to a press release from the county, the Office of Health Services is working with the U.S. Coast Guard and the NJ Department of Environmental Protection to assess damage and health risks from the hurricane along the Middlesex County coastline.
As a result, all waterfront and beach areas are closed, with signage informing the public to stay off the beaches, the release said.

Beaches will remain closed until further notice, the release said.
Updates on when beaches will be reopened will be posted on the county website, www.co.middlesex.nj.us.
