Rutgers Wide Receiver on Biletnikoff Watchlist

Rutgers University junior Brandon Coleman was named to the 2013 Biletnikoff Award watchlist, according to scarletknights.com. The Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to the best wide receiver in college football.

In 2012, Coleman, from Accokeek, Maryland, tied a Rutgers school record with 10 touchdown catches, and is currently fifth on the school's career touchdown catches list with 16. He led the team with 718 receiving yards, and was named second team all-Big East, according to scarletknights.com.

For 2013, he's been selected preseason third team all-American by The Sporting News and a preseason first-team all-conference selection by Phil Steele and Athlon.

The Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation Inc. created and sponsors the award. It also selects the players on the initial watchlist, announced on Tuesday.

The final recipient will be selected by the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, made up of over 200 college football journalists, commentators and former receivers.

Previously, Kaleb Johnson and Antwan Lowery were named to the Outland Trophy watchlist and Jamal Merrell was named to the Chuck Bednarik watchlist.
