PHOTO GALLERY: State Troopers Shower Pediatric Patients with Christmas Gifts

For the last several years, a group of NJ State Troopers visit Saint Peter's University Hospital to bring gifts to children in the hospital.

Santa is everywhere around Christmas, and he makes a point to remember the children who are spending the holiday in the hospital.

On Christmas Eve morning, Santa Claus, accompanied by his family and about a dozen NJ State Troopers, visited the pediatric units of Saint Peter's University Hospital to bring dozens of new toys to pediatric patients and their siblings.

The troopers are mainly of the State Police Somervile barracks, or previously assigned to those barracks, they said.

Santa was played by retired Staff Sgt. Brian Potter, of Montgomery.

Kristal Neal, Coordinator of Child Life for Saint Peter's University Hospital, said that about 40 children were on Santa's list for the visit, ranging in age from just a few months old to their late teens.
