Todd Andrlik Author Event, Barnes and Noble at Rutgers University Bookstore, 100 Somerset St.

Author Todd Andrlik will discuss his latest book, "Reporting the Revolutionary War: Before it Was History, It Was News" at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

Thursday

Makeda Ethiopian Restaurant, 338 George St.

There is a $5 cover charge for this performance, which is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Friday

20th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration, corner of Livingston Avenue and George Street.

New Brunswick City Market will host its annual holiday tree lighting celebration from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event is free and will feature musical entertainment, a visit from Santa Claus, free carriage rides, a scavenger hunt and a chili cook off, with tasting kits available for $1.
