The Art of Culture - Kombucha and Fermentation Classes - w/ Dan Farella - 2 Part Series - $5 off for advanced registration

- Saturday, January 19th – 1 pm – $40 or $35 if paid by 1/12/13

- Kombucha Brewing Workshop @ Princeton Yoga Center -

Come learn about the amazing health benefits of Kombucha and demystify the art of brewing and caring for your own culture at home.

Dan will take you step by step through the process of preparing new tea to feed his Kombucha culture. He will also show you how to make flavors similar to what you might find in the store, and will have several Kombucha recipes available for sampling. You will be able to ask any questions during the process.

In addition to brewing, Dan will explain how the probiotics found in Kombucha can be beneficial and healing to the digestive tract as well as offer suggestions for how to bring a healing revolution into your home by incorporating home brewed Kombucha into your drinks and smoothies.

Please bring your own cup for tasting and your own jar if you would like to take home a Kombucha culture. One gallon jars work best. Due to the fact that cultures “make babies” there will be a limited amount Dan will be able to give away.

- Wild Vegetable Fermentation Workshop @ Princeton Yoga Center -

This workshop will offer hands on experience, and empower you to make your own healthy fermented foods at home without the use of electricity or refrigeration. Foods you will learn to make include sauerkraut, pickles, and kimchee.

We will explore the process of fermentation, the many ways of flavoring with spices, as well as tasting and adding fermented foods to your already existing meals.

We will also discuss the magic and sacredness of the process from the alchemical perspective, as we learn the healing effects of consuming these nourishing, healing foods.

Each person will leave with a jar of fermented “kraut-chee” and the knowledge to care for it, eat it, and make lots more!
