PARKER HOME Hosts Free "Fun, Food & Fitness Fair"

HIGHLAND PARK –“Move to Improve” will once again be the motto of Parker Home®’s fourth annual Fun, Food & Fitness Fair, a popular community event for adults aged 55 and up.  The Fair will be held on Sunday, April 6th, from 11am to 3pm, at the Parker Center for Healthy Aging, located in Parker at the Pavilion in Highland Park.

Regular daily exercise is a key factor in pain management, while also improving strength and balance during the aging process. PARKER Center for Healthy Aging collaborated with a variety of health experts to provide a comprehensive program for the Central Jersey adult community including informational lectures about Health & Exercise, as well as the opportunity to enjoy classes on Char Chi (Tai Chi performed in a chair), tango dancing, arthritis exercises, and Zumba® dance fitness.  Parker Home’s personal trainers will lead the sessions and motivate participants to begin a healthier lifestyle. “You have to work at being well,” stated Lori Morell, Health & Wellness Coordinator at PARKER Home. “That is the prescription for achieving wellness.”

This year’s fair showcases a new approach to wellness with “Laughter Yoga and Humor Therapy,” a safe and innovative yoga routine geared towards active adults.
