This past Saturday morning at the Fellowship Deaconry Ministries in Basking Ridge, 140 volunteers worked around 24 hours around the clock to give the youth center a fresh look. The Deaconry has helped displaced families during Hurricane Sandy by providing temporary housing and meals. Four hour shifts over the 24-hour time period from Friday to Saturday organized the workflow. Church volunteer teams filed in each shift to paint walls and ceilings, wire outlets, build furniture, put together entertainment systems, and clean up the yard. The NJ-based Church group will continue to help homeowners restore their property after Sandy, which originally hit the region in October last year.
