New Brunswick's Memorial Day Parade on May 28th!

New Brunswick's Annual Memorial Day Parade is happening Monday, May 28th.

Prior to the parade, the New Brunswick VFW Post 370 will hold a memorial service for the Unknown Soldier, whose final resting spot is located behind the New Brunswick Free Public Library, which is open to the public. Following the service, participants will be lining up in front of the New Brunswick Elks Lodge on Livingston Avenue around 10:30 a.m.

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. sharp, with the opening ceremony happening in Monument Square (in front of the Heldrich hotel at the corner of Livingston & George Streets), with some words by New Brunswick's Mayor James Cahill.

Led by Grand Marshal Philip Abatee, the parade route will go down George Street towards Route 27, turning right on to Route 27 and going straight into Highland Park, concluding at the Doughboy Monument at the corner of Route 27 and Woodbridge Avenue around 12 p.m.

Participants will be able to get refreshments in the parking lot of PNC Bank or inside the Senior Center in case of inclement weather.

Participants in the parade include the National Guard - Woodbridge Barracks, New Brunswick Little League, Pop Warner Softball, New Brunswick Police Department, New Brunswick Fire Department, Middlesex County Sheriff's Department, New Brunswick High School Junior ROTC, Rutgers University Air Force/Army ROTC, Highland Park Little League, Highland Park Police Department, Highland Park Fire Department, Knights of Columbus, Order of Purple Hearts, Catholic War Veterans, and more.
