Bar Brawl Victim Remains Hospitalized

A fight at Olde Queens early Sunday morning sent one man to the hospital.

A Berkeley Heights man injured in a brawl at Olde Queens Tavern early Sunday morning remains hospitalized in critical condition.

At 12:50 a.m. Sunday, Michael Mattingly, 25, was one of two patrons who police say become "agitated and aggressive" when bar employees asked them to leave.

A confrontation broke out between the two patrons and bar staff in which Mattingly was severely injured and taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Hospital spokesman Peter Haigney confirmed that Mattingly is still a patient at the hospital, and his condition is critical.

On Monday, Cpt. J.T. Miller, spokesman for New Brunswick Police, said no charges have been filed against anyone as of yet.
