Man Killed in Baldwin Street Boarding House Stabbing

Police have arrested one person in connection with the death.

A Tuesday night stabbing at a Baldwin Street boarding house left one man dead and another in jail on $1 million bail.

According to a press release from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office, Evan Morgan, 26, of New Brunswick, was found injured after police responded to the home at 8:17 p.m. Tuesday.

He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and pronounced dead shortly after at 9 p.m. 

At 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Devonte Scott, 21, was arrested at an undisclosed location and charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, according to the press release.

He is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick with bail set at $1 million. 

Autopsy results are not yet available, according to the release.
