UPDATE: New Brunswick Man Killed Thursday on Robinson Street

An unidentified 19-year-old man was shot just before 9:30 p.m. on Robinson Street.

UPDATED 8:45 p.m.

A New Brunswick man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting Thursday night on Robinson Street.

According to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office, Dawonne Cooper, 22, of Fernwood Court was charged with felony murder in connection with the shooting death of Joshua Zhou, 19, of New Brunswick.

According to a press release from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office,  police received a 911 call at 9:27 p.m. Thursday about the shooting, according to the Prosecutor's Office.

Zhou was the intended target of a robbery when Cooper allegedly shot him multiple times in the torso in a basement of a Robinson Street house, according to the Prosecutor's Office.

Zhou was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:26 p.m.

Cooper must post $1 million bail before he can be released, according to the Prosecutor's Office.
