New Brunswick Teen Indicted for Lacey Armed Robbery

Joselin Santos, 17, unlawfully carried a handgun at the time of the robbery

A New Brunswick teen was recently indicted on a charge of armed robbery for an incident that took place in Lacey Township on Dec. 20, 2011.

Joselin Santos, 17, was indicted on Jan. 31 on charges of robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of hollow nose bullets.

The indictment states that while committing a theft, Santos purposely put his victim in fear of immediate bodily injury with use of a “deadly weapon.”

Santos was illegally carrying a .38-caliber handgun and hollow nose bullets, according to the indictment. He did not first obtain a permit to carry the gun, the indictment stated.

Santos posted $100,000 bail on June 1, 2012.
