No Injuries Reported in Hale Street Fire

The fire began in the garage of a house at 21 Hale St., according to fire officials.

A house at 21 Hale Street has been damaged in a fire, but all residents were able to evacuate without injury.

Firefighters were dispatched to the home at 7:39 p.m. Sunday to find a fire started in an attached garage and spreading to its exterior, according to New Brunswick Fire Department Deputy Chief Tom LoPardo.

The occupants were able to evacuate themselves as well as a dog in the garage that was not injured, LoPardo said.

The inside of the garage was heavily damaged by the fire, and the inside of the house sustained smoke and water damage, LoPardo said.

It was not known on Thursday morning if the tenants were displaced from the residence, but LoPardo said the home's utilities were shut off on Thursday night.
