Over $17K Worth of Jewelry Stolen from Manalapan Home, New Brunswick Man Charged

Manalapan Police have arrested and charged a New Brunswick man in conjunction with a burglary and theft.

New Brunswick resident Michael Thoma was arrested by Manalapan police on Oct. 4 for allegedly breaking into a Manalapan home and stealing over $17,000 worth of jewelry.

According to an arrest warrant issued by the Manalapan Police Department, Thoma, 22, illegally entered a Monterey Lane home on Sept. 24 and removed jewelry valued at approximately $17,500.

Thoma’s bail was set at $70,000 and he is currently remanded in Monmouth County Correctional Institute.

According to he the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, Thoma has also been charged with numerous burglary and thefts stemming out of Howell and Marlboro. He was arrested by Marlboro Police on Wednesday, Oct. 3 and charged with burglarizing five Marlboro homes.
