Police: Man Shot in Chest Sunday at Townsend Street Prostitution House

A local man was shot at 301 Townsend Street on Sunday afternoon.

A man was shot on Sunday afternoon on Townsend Street at a house police say is known for prostitution.

Manuel Raymos-Hernandez, age unknown, a resident of 301 Townsend St., was shot in the chest around 5:30 p.m. Sunday when an unidentified shooter rang the bell and opened fire when Raymos-Hernandez opened the door, according to Cpt. J.T. Miller of the New Brunswick Police Department.

Raymos-Hernandez's injuries were not life threatening, Miller said.

Miller said the house where the shooting took place is known for prostitution, and that police are continuing to investigate.
