City Council Swears in New Members, Appoints New President and VP

Betsy Garlatti, Glenn Fleming and John Anderson were sworn in as new council members at Wednesday's reorganization meeting.

New Brunswick City Council swore in three council members and picked a new president and vice president at Wednesday's annual reorganization meeting.

Elizabeth Garlatti and Glenn Fleming were respectively sworn into new terms while John Anderson was sworn in for his first term as a councilman.

The council voted to appoint councilwoman Rebecca Escobar as president, and councilman Kevin Egan as vice president.

Fleming, who took the council member oath as his two young sons held the bible that he placed his left hand on, said all council members and the residents who come out to meetings love the city, and he looked forward to working with everyone to keep New Brunswick progressing.

"We're all going to do a good thing for the city of New Brunswick because like Mr. Fleming said, we all love the city of New Brunswick," Egan said.
