Free Firewood Available to City Residents

Wood left over from trees downed during Sandy can be picked up Wednesdays at the Sports Complex.

The city is offering free firewood to New Brunswick residents, cut from trees downed during Hurricane Sandy.

According to a press release from the Mayor's Office, residents can pick up as much as 40 pieces of firewood between the hours of 1-3 p.m. Wednesdays at the Sports Complex on Joyce Kilmer Avenue at Juliet Street.

Residents must show proof of residency, and can pick up wood only once, according to the release.
