New Brunswick Announces Personnel Changes

New Brunswick Mayor James M. Cahill announced today that effective Monday, March 31, Jennifer Bradshaw will assume the position of Public Information Officer for the City of New Brunswick.  Current Public Information Officer Russell Marchetta will become the Assistant Business Administrator in the City’s Administration Department reporting to City Administrator Thomas Loughlin.

“Jennifer’s skills as a reporter and knowledge of New Brunswick will be a real asset in providing residents, the media, businesses and visitors with information about City services and operations and news, events and items of interest,” Mayor Cahill said.  “Jennifer will also be responsible for overseeing the social media outlets, including the City’s website, Facebook page, Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube and Vimeo the City currently offers that provide instant information to our residents,” Mayor Cahill added.

Ms. Bradshaw most recently served as a local editor for Patch.com, running sites for New Brunswick and Woodbridge.  As Patch.com editor, Ms. Bradshaw covered all aspects of the City of New Brunswick for nearly three years.  Prior to her tenure at Patch.com, Ms. Bradshaw served as a staff writer and reporter at the Asbury Park Press in Neptune, NJ.  In that position Ms. Bradshaw served as the primary education reporter and also covered state and legislative issues, local municipal coverage and breaking news stories.

“I am also very pleased that Russell Marchetta has taken on the role as Assistant Business Administrator.  In his new position Russell will be involved in such areas as preparation of operational and capital budgets, management of public properties, collective bargaining for municipal employee contracts and energy related issues,” Mayor Cahill said.  Russell’s prior experience in both the public and private sectors, added to his work as the City’s Public Information Officer for the past two years, will greatly assist him in his new position,” Mayor Cahill added.
