News12 Examines January School Board Elections

"Kane in Your Corner" addresses alleged mistakes and inaccuracies in January's special school board elections.

New Brunswick's January school board elections were the subject of a recent report on News12's "Kane in Your Corner."

The investigative program featured interviews with New Brunswick residents Cedrick Goodman and Charlie Kratovil and George Hendricks, attorney for the New Brunswick board of education.

Goodman ran for a seat in January's historic elections and lost. Kratovil is a city resident and activist and author of the website New Brunswick Today, which has heavily discussed the elections and has repeatedly suggested impropriety in the way they were handled at the city and county level.

New Brunswick had its first school board election on Jan. 22 after a referendum this past November passed public vote and converted the school board from appointed to elected. Two seats were added to the board to grow it from seven seats to nine seats, and two candidates were elected to fill those seats.

Ronald Hush and Diana Fajardo, candidates endorsed by major players in the city, won the seats in a landslide.
