Food Drive and Chili Cook-Off Benefits Elijah's Promise

December chili cook-off raised $650 for Elijah's Promise

This year’s 4th Annual Chili Cook-Off competition was a great success that had more residents and visitors participate in sampling the chili recipes to select the “Best Tasting” recipe this year, than ever before.

With the success of this year’s attendance, $650 was raised to benefit Elijah’s Promise. On Dec. 19, the Executive Director of New Brunswick City Market, Pamela Stefanek, and a New Brunswick City Market Board of Director member, Mary Peppe, presented the check to Lisanne Finston, Executive Director of Elijah’s Promise. With these funds, Elijah’s Promise will be able to provide an additional 250 meals to those in need.

New Brunswick City Market’s Annual Holiday Food ran throughout the month of December and included drop-off locations at Amboy Bank and New Millennium Bank in downtown New Brunswick, collecting monetary donations and food donations from patrons that attended the free horse-drawn carriage rides, also hosted by New Brunswick City Market, were abundant this year and proved that when everyone comes together to lend a helping hand, a little bit can go a long way.
