The New Jersey Museum of Agriculture was opened to the general public in 1990 with the singular goal of educating individuals on the importance of agriculture and the major role that it plays in nutrition, science, technology, and the environment. Of course, there is a particular emphasis on the particularity of New Jersey agriculture, and the 30,000 sq. ft. museum provides detailed tours of the history and future of agriculture in the Garden State. This non-profit organization works with many families and schools in the area to educate thousands of children on the importance of agriculture in everyday life. There are even summer camps and weekend programs dedicated to spreading knowledge on the significance of agriculture in this country.
