Temperatures are expected to significantly cool on Sunday.

Conditions will be dangerous for those working outside or living in non-air conditioned homes. Young children and adults over 50 are expected to be adversely impacted, and leaving anyone in non-air conditioned cars, including children and pets, can be fatal, the NWS warns.

NWS advises residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, stay in air conditioned rooms and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Those who must work outside are advised to do so in the early morning or evening hours, wear light weight and loose fitting clothing, drink plenty of water and be aware of the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion. It also advises scheduling frequent rest periods in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should move to a cooler location, and anyone suffering heat stroke should call 911.
