All events are free and open to the public.

A grand celebration of Dia De Los Muertos, "Day of the Dead" is planned this week at the New Brunswick Free Public Library.

From 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, the community is invited to the library for a construction of an altar to place photos of deceased loved ones. There will also be paper flower making and a sugar skull workshop, presented by Lazos America Unida.

On Saturday, Nov. 2 from 1-4 p.m., Lazos America Unida and the library will present a festival featuring traditional music and Aztec dancing by the Calpulli Huehuetlatolli dance troupe, and Mexican-influenced refreshments, according to a press release from the library.

The library also has a Day of the Dead exhibit up in the library's Carl T. Valenti Community Room, showcasing Hispanic history and culture in New Brunswick.

All events are free and open to the public.
